candle care & faq
• it's all about the soy wax... which is 100% organic (made from soy beans), no animal testing, and it burns longer than other waxes - about 50+ hours total. however soy wax can show its true self after burning. don't be alarmed if you find that your candle wax starts to "sweat", frost, spot, or vary in color while or after being lit. these are natural imperfections that may appear after burning.
• we don't use any added dyes on our candles with the exception of a literal teensy drop of ivory dye in the sandal & cedar wood candle. this is because the fragrance oils used to create this scent contain more vanillin, which can yellow the natural color of soy wax over time. however, all of our fragrance oils and dye are 100% non toxic and totally okay to have burning in your home or office. if you experience any of our other candles turning a light shade of yellow, please know it's totally normal.
• when lighting your candle for the first time, please make sure you burn it for 2-4 hours or until the wax is evenly melted from end to end of the jar. this ensures your candle burns the way it was designed to burn - evenly to avoid tunneling. trim the wick to 1/4" before burning, every. single. time. to continue that even burn and to make sure the candle is the safest while lit.
• never leave a candle unattended, near children or pets, and always make sure your candle is lit while on a heat-resistance surface to avoid any heat damage. maximum burn time should be 4 hours for each burn.
why will my order take 7-10 business days to ship out?
as a small, 1-2 person business, we do our best to get your order out as soon as possible. every candle is made to order, meaning we rarely make any candles ahead of time unless we know a big holiday, campaign, or sale is coming up! usually your order will ship out within a few days, pending supplies and labor. please be patient and understanding that your candles are being made with lots of love so you can have the best of the best quality product.
do you have any other options for shipping? do you ship internationally?
currently we only ship via USPS. we are actively looking into adding other rates/carriers to fit your shipping needs. we do not ship internationally at this time, but hope it will be an option in the near future. if you are outside of the usa and really love our candles, please email us for a shipping quote (including duties and taxes).
how long will it take to receive my order once it's been shipped?
we are based in venice, california and ship via USPS (mostly priority mail). If you live in california or the surrounding states, your order will arrive in 1-2 business days. any orders traveling to the midwest, east coast, or south, can take up to 3-5 business days.
what is your packaging like?
all of our packaging is eco friendly. we try to use the least amount of packaging as possible without affecting the safety of your candle while in transit. if your candles arrive damaged or broken, email us with a photo and we will send out a replacement order asap!
I wish you made a specific scent, can I give you feedback?
absolutely! we're all about customer suggestions & feedback. if you haven't noticed, each copper & honey scents combines two natural scents (ie: cardamom & clove). if you're looking for a specific scent or a certain type of candle, let us know and you may have a hand in helping create our newest scent. we'd love to know what smells you want in your home!
